Great Plains AMBUCS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Lawton, Oklahoma, dedicated to improving mobility and independence for children and adults living with disabilities. As a local chapter of AMBUCS National, we proudly work Shoulders Together to create meaningful, life‑changing impact in our community.

We provide specialized equipment and support to help children and adults live fuller, more independent lives. Our core initiatives include:

  • AmTryke Therapeutic Tricycles: Providing specially designed cycles for individuals unable to operate traditional bicycles.
  • Mobility Support: Building wheelchair access ramps to improve home and community accessibility.
  • Educational Scholarships: Supporting the next generation of healthcare providers by funding students pursuing degrees in various therapy fields.

Major Fundraising Events

Our mission is made possible through the generous support of our community and local sponsors. Join us at one of our upcoming signature events:

Event Description
Bags for Cash A cornhole fundraiser supported by the Apache Casino Hotel as the main event sponsor.
Red River Craft Beer Festival Held annually; the 2026 event is scheduled for Saturday, April 18. VIP entry begins at 3 p.m., with General Admission at 5 p.m. (21+ only) .
Fly-A-Flag A community program with the goal of continuing the mission through the flying of the American flag.
