Great Plains AMBUCS: Mission and Community Impact
Based in Lawton, Oklahoma, Great Plains AMBUCS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable civic club. As a local chapter of the national AMBUCS organization, the group is dedicated to a singular, powerful mission: improving mobility and independence for children and adults living with disabilities.
Core Mission & Outreach
The club provides life-changing resources and equipment to help individuals live fuller, more independent lives, including:
- AmTryke Therapeutic Tricycles: Specially designed cycles for those unable to operate traditional bikes.
- Mobility Support: Construction of wheelchair access ramps.
- Educational Support: Providing scholarships for students pursuing degrees in various therapy fields.
Key Fundraising Events
To fund these initiatives, Great Plains AMBUCS hosts several high-profile community events:
